Eleanor descends from a long line of space-farers, some 27 generations. Her great-great-great-great-great-great...ah...one of her ancestors was a famous combat pilot, instrumental in the downfall of a particularly vicious group of pirates that were the scourge of the time (He himself also did a certain amount of trading in questionable goods on the side, but we don't speak of that).
As a result, she has an intuitive grasp of space-flight, and can be a little scornful of those who lead strictly terran or even station-based lives. She recently had to be physically restrained from punching Scotty the Docking Manager, whom she feels "has a performance record akin to that normally associated with molluscs".
Most of her family live in the Amarr Homeworlds, which she regards as unbearably dull.
